José Carlos Coupeau Dorronsoro

José C. Coupeau (Jesuit, 1987) has exercised the ordained ministry (1996) in the Church of Boston, Rome and Bilbao especially. He obtained his doctorate in theology (2001) from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology (Cambridge, Massachusetts, today Theology Department at Boston College), defending a research on the Constitutions of St. Ignatius of Loyola (translated as The Spirit in Form, 2014).

He teaches in the Faculty of Theology at the University of Deusto and is the Principal Investigator of the Religions, Spirituality and Multicultural Society Team. A founding member of the so-called " Ignatian Spirituality Group" (IEG, 2000-), with the members of this seminar, he is co-author of the Ignatian Spirituality Dictionary (2007), and of The Essential Writings of the Early Jesuits (2014), in the Manresa Collection.

He has been the editor of the Ignatian Bibliography between 2000-2013, published by the online journals Ignaziana (Naples 2007-) and Manresa (Madrid, 1925-). In these journals and others such as Studies in Spirituality (Nijmegen), Gregorianum (Rome), Archivum Historicum Societatis Iesu (Rome, 1939-) or Ecclesiastical Studies (Madrid) have published his research, where the article Espiritualidad Ignaciana: Guía para investigadores and, recently, Ignacio de Loyola: Diez años después (2010-2019) stand out.
