Guillermo RodrĂ­guez-Izquierdo

He was born in Seville in 1940. He joined the Society of Jesus in 1956. Completed studies in Physics and taught Electricity and Electronics at the University of Seville, the University of Santiago and the University of Extremadura, where he held various academic posts: secretary general, dean, vice-rector and rector. From 1984 to 1994 he was Rector of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas.

In 1995 he was appointed provincial of the Society of Jesus in Andalusia and the Canary Islands. Later, in Rome, he was delegate of Father General for the interprovincial Roman houses and, again in Andalusia, provincial for Andalusia and the Canary Islands.

In recent years he has collaborated in the area of Identity and Mission at Loyola AndalucĂ­a University. He currently collaborates in pastoral activities from the Jesuit community of San Hipolito, in Cordoba.
